WCS Games vs. Morrisville-Eaton cancelled

At 6:40 a.m. it is minus 14.7 degrees in Whiskey Hollow
and is no doubt even colder at higher elevations.

At 6:31 the O-D carried a list of School Closings and Delays:
Waterville was NOT on the list at that time.

A similar listing appears on WKTV.

The morning Weather Forecast from TWCNY:

"Remaining Bitterly Cold the Next Couple of Days, Sub-Zero Wind Chills Continue.
We'll continue to deal with absolutely frigid conditions on Wednesday and despite actual highs in the single digits, wind chills look to be well below zero (feeling like the -10s/-20s in the morning). Outside of some limited lake effect snow west of I-81 and south of Lake Ontario, most of the day will be dry.
A weak upper-level disturbance will provide the increased threat for a few flurries and snow showers Thursday and that arctic air mass is expected to stay in place. During this time, remember to dress in layers and restrict the amount of time both you and your pets spend outdoors. After seeing highs only in the single digits Thursday, temperatures should start to trend upward heading into the weekend.
The forecast calls for highs in the teens Friday with 20s in store for Saturday. However, this is still below average and temperatures will return to the teens by Sunday."

PLANNING AHEAD

SPECIAL INVITATION from HARDING NURSING HOME

*******************************

Time was, we thought that camping out in weather like this was a grand experience!

Ahhh!  The early morning sun on the clean, new snow .....

..........  and the aroma of "camping pasta" thawing for breakfast!

But now I've decided that the aroma of coffee brewing in my nice warm kitchen is just as nice.  I didn't go out at all, yesterday, for the simple reason that I didn't need to, and I may not go out at all today, but if I hear of anything to tell you - or if someone send me a photo to share - I'll post it right away.

'Til then - have a good day!
