Finally!

Finally!

This blog post has been delayed by a series of problems with "Blogspot." I've been tinkering with it since about six o'clock and although there are still some glitches here and there, this, at least,  is something!

It's 42 degrees and wet at 9:45

The TWCNY Weather Forecast: "Scattered Showers, Cooler Tuesday
Scattered showers are expected to track eastward today and while temperatures will be cooler, we'll still end up about 10 degrees above average with highs in the upper 30s and low 40s. That being said, some may actually see temperatures drop throughout the day.
A wave of low pressure will work in on Wednesday, keeping a couple of rain/snow showers in the midweek forecast. Highs on
Wednesday should be right around 40 degrees but once we get on the back side of this system, a colder and more seasonable air mass pushes in. Temperatures later this week will top out in the 30s and it looks even colder getting into the weekend."

YESTERDAY

The thermometer in my car read 48 degrees, yesterday afternoon, when I drove past Memorial Park School.

Note bare lawn!

About ten minutes later, the convoy of school buses had reached the Jr. - Sr. High School.

More bare lawn.

Between the time that I left the East side of the village and reached the West I noticed that all of the Christmas wreaths have been removed from lamp posts along Main Street, and .....

............ a crew from Raulli Metalworks was at St. Bernard's Church .....

.............. where elegant, graceful new railings had been set firmly in place!

Also making good use of the Springlike weather, Steve Mackintosh was riding his bicycle .....

and Jody Hildreth was out for an afternoon run.

(I had pulled into the driveway next to Roc's to take a picture of him running, but he spotted me, first, and crossed the street to take off his headset and chat about snowy owls, eagles,  the school musical and - of course - the weather.  I always hate to interrupt an athlete, but if they want to take a break it's up to them and I always enjoy talking!)

Out in the country, this could have been "Hanover View in November!"

There was barely a hint of snow left in this view of West Hill from the top of Grant Hill.

Heading back toward Waterville on Gridley-Paige Road, this view of the sky brought me to a complete stop!

While I had been heading North, these strange clouds had taken shape in the South and seemed to stretch for miles in an East - West  line over Waterville.  They looked a bit like Mammutus clouds, but I'd never seen them form in rows, before.  I hope that a blog reader, somewhere, can tell me more about them.
