For Wednesday Morning

*********

It's Recyclables Collection Day
50 degrees and sunny at 6:30 a.m.

The TWCNY Weather Forecast:

"Scattered showers and storms, Cooling Down Toward the End of the Week.
Between the warm front and a disturbance pushing in from the west today, it looks like we'll have a few more scattered showers and storms to contend with. Luckily, temperatures won't be negatively impacted with highs in the 70s.
Showers and storms remain in the forecast for Thursday and the overall weather pattern will stay on the unsettled side through at least the end of the week.
Even though highs are expected to drop back into the upper 60s Thursday and mid 60s Friday, temperatures should recover into the 70s just in time for the upcoming holiday weekend!

IN THE MAIL

This photo and E-note from Pat Moshetti:

Flying Squirrels
"I've had a group of around 8 of these guys at my feeder since winter.  Last night was the first night I was able to get close enough to snap a picture."

(Thank you, Pat!)

Here & There

More pictures of the damage caused by last Friday's "micro-burst" in N. Brookfield, courtesy of Sherry Wright.

When the Wrights' massive poplar tree fell, it went right across the road, with much of it landing on the Maines' side yard.

The power company arrived very quickly ....

........ but despite a rapid clean-up, power was not fully restored until the next morning.

*****

In the Village

The "tubs" are out along Main Street and some have even been planted ......

............ as has the Watering Trough in the Park.

Old-fashioned "Bleeding Heart" blooms in flowerbeds ....

..... and out in the countryside, the old apple trees on this hill look as if they are covered with frost instead of blossoms.

On the banks of "the Oriskany," blossoms of Wood Betony appear to whirl in a happy dance.
