It's Recyclables collection day.
34 degrees and clear at 6:00 a.m.
The morning Weather Forecast from YWCNY:
"Sunny and Pleasant! Warmer Weather Ahead
After a brigh start more clouds arrive late today thanks to an approaching warm front. Fortunately, dry weather will continue to prevail with just the slight risk for a late day shower. Highs will range from 60 to 65 degrees.
The aforementioned warm front will provide a mostly cloudy/partly sunny sky Thursday along with a small shower threat but it will be warmer as temperatures manage to climb into the low 70s.
This warming trend looks to continue through the end of the week and on Friday, the forecast calls for highs in the upper 70s. Despite the passage of a cold front this weekend, it shouldn't cool down too much with temperatures still able to top out in the 70s both Saturday and Sunday."

From photographer Jody Hildreth, who had spent some time east of the Village, yesterday afternoon, taking pictures of Red Fox "kits," giving me permission to post the photographs here. (Thank you, Jody!)
"Peek-a-boo. I see you!"
"What is that man doing there?"
"Oh - it's a camera! I'd better smile!"

Yesterday's "Here & There" photos from my camera:
Spring "fix-ups" have begun, and this handsome Victorian home on Stafford Avenue is getting new "lichen green" siding.
I could see - and smell - the results of much lawn mowing throughout the community, but here, behind the Chinese restaurant and the "Buell Block," the parking lot was being paved.

Mother's Day is Sunday!
From the parking lot at the Kountry Kupboard, right next to Earley's Farm & Hardware Store on Route 20, west of Sangerfield, I could see bright plashes of color in the Earley greenhouse and (of course!) went to investigate!
Temptations, temptations, but there was frost on the ground this morning here in "the hollow," and even planters of Pansies might have shivered.
Heading back to Waterville I stopped at Alcott's, where the colors (and temptations!) were dazzling.
Gaylene dragged me away from bright bedding and hanging plants and pointed out something new: delightful little "Faerie Gardens!" There was several already assembled but, also, a large selection of "things" for anyone who wants to design and plant their own.

It may be too early to do much gardening outdoors, but those who forage for natural foods are busy gathering Dandelion Greens and Fiddleheads! More about those tomorrow!)
