Monday morning update

It's Garbage Day
41 degrees with lots of blue sky and sunshine!

The TWCNY Forecast:

"Quiet and Cool Start to Week, Nicer Weather Ahead
High pressure building in from the Great Lakes will make for increasing sun this afternoon.  Tonight will be clear and chilly.

Tuesday will be sunny, but cool. Wednesday is when we finally see the return to seasonable temperatures. Dry weather should hold on through Wednesday night.

A warm front will move into the region Thursday bringing even warmer air into the region. It will also bring the threat for an isolated shower or storm. Scattered showers and storms will be a bit more likely Friday with temperatures remaining above average."

Something New for You from the Library!

(A announcement from Library Director Jeff Reynolds:)

"Waterville Public Library through our Mid York Library System, in partnership with RBdigital from Recorded Books (Prince Frederick, MD), is pleased to announce the availability of Zinio for Libraries. Through www.midyork.org, patrons of Mid York Library System will have unlimited simultaneous access to complete digital magazines, which can easily be viewed on most Internet-enabled devices inside or outside of the library, e.g., iPads, Galaxies, Chromebooks and other tablets, laptops or desktop PCs.   Zinio’s unique technology digitally recreates a magazine page for page, including full color pictures, intuitive navigation, key word article search and interactive elements such as audio and video.  The Economist, Good Housekeeping, Martha Stewart Living, and National Geographic are just a few of the 50 popular titles now available- with many more to come!
"The quality of photographs and video is spectacular on my iPad.  And I was amazed how easy it was to set up my free Zinio account using my WPL library card number.   Other than sitting down in our cushy chairs in the Library and devouring the 50+ titles we have here in print (you can check them out to take home, too, you know),  Zinio is the absolute best, 21st century  way to read magazines, in my book!
"Please come to the Library with your favorite “smart” Internet-enabled device and let us show you how to access this amazing new service-- or go to www.midyork.org now to get started!"

The popular Summertime Series returns to the Waterville Public Library at a little bit after 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

It's a chance for old timers to "remember when,"  for visitors of all ages to learn what life was like in Waterville "back in the good old days," and for everyone to enjoy refreshments (courtesy of the Library!)
