It was a good idea, but ......

...  once again, due to unpleasant weather, the new Walkers' Group gathering originally scheduled for last Wednesday and then Today has been postponed until NEXT WEEK!

*********

It's Recyclable Collection Day
21.7 Degrees at 5:30 a.m.

The morning Weather Forecast from TWCNY:
"Blustery and Cold,  Warmer for the End of the Week.

Today we will keep a couple of flurries or a snow shower in the forecast but you're more likely to notice the cold and blustery conditions. Highs will only range from 20 to 25 degrees with wind chills generally in the single digits.

Luckily, this unseasonably cold air mass doesn't stick around for long. Despite the extra clouds on Thursday and scattered showers Friday, we should end the work week with temperatures climbing close to 50 degrees! Highs will temporarily drop back into the 40s this weekend (due to the passage of a cold front) before another warm up takes place early next week."

It's time for the

ANNUAL BROTHERTOWN SCHOLARSHIP FUND DRIVE

The Brothertown Scholarship Fund assists students of Waterville Central School with academic scholarships.  Our mission is to raise money which is used to assist WCS seniors with their college expenses.  We began in 1992 by awarding fourteen seniors $52.80 each.  Over the past twenty-one years, we have been able to award a total of over $145,175 in scholarships.  Some of this money comes from individual memorial scholarships which we manage, and the remainder comes from the interest income generated from this annual endowment fund drive.  Any amount of money you can donate is greatly appreciated.

Recent Sightings

Seen on Monday, a familiar sight: Dan Ford waving from his Frontier truck.  If you're lucky, you'll have one more chance to swap waves with him - next Monday - but after that and after 41 years, Dan will be driving life "Retired!"

Congratulations, Dan!

We keep having sudden snow showers ......

............. grounding geese by the hundreds at ponds like this, at Lyon's Mills.......

...............  and building up the snowbank between Valley Road and this Fishermen's Bench next to the Oriskany Creek.

FOR THE RECORD

I had mean to post this photo on Monday:

It was twenty years ago on March 23 that the roof of the big old early-1800s sawmill / piano factory / barn in Whiskey Hollow gave way under three feet of heavy, wet snow!

Thank you, Allstate!

Have a good day everyone!
