My great thanks to Brian Staring who sent me all of these grand photographs of yesterday's Basketball Game at OCC.
This was the way it ended .......
.... but hours before, back in Waterville, the team was given a rousing send-off.
Gold and purple balloons were sent soaring and then the team bus was escorted out of town by every piece of Waterville Fire Department equipment with lights flashing and sirens blowing plus dozens of cars and pick-up trucks all making as much noise as they possibly could!
(One bystander mentioned that anyone who didn't know what was going on must have thought that the entire Village was going up in flames!)
Once at OCC, purple and gold clad fans watched every move as the Indians did what they do so well.
After the game, Sawyer (left) with co-captains Jon Piersma and Tyler Lemery accept the NYSPHSAA* Basketball Trophy......
....and the entire team and their coaches "took a bow."

Brian also wrote: "During the game at half time, I was talking to Tim Tarbox, a former Waterville Basketball player years ago. He said, 'Waterville has to be a ghost town because I think everyone in the Waterville area is here.' I said, 'I think it's awesome the support that the people of the Waterville area have given our basketball team.' "
