The Weather Forecast from TWCNY:

"Warm & Humid Labor Day, Showers and Storms Tuesday.

Today will be warm and humid with afternoon highs in the low and mid 80s. While a shower or storm cannot be completely ruled out, it looks like much of the day will end up precipitation free.
Tuesday will feature the increased threat for showers and storms (especially during the second half of the day) due to an approaching cold front. After seeing temperatures top out in the low 80s on Tuesday, highs are expected to temporarily ease into the upper 70s Wednesday which will also be accompanied by the return of high pressure.
Toward the end of the week, another warm up should take place with temperatures climbing well into the 80s once again."

Here & There on a soggy Sunday.

Thriving in the rain .......

....  all of the flowers in Pat's gardens on "Maiden Lane."

There was almost no activity at all on West Main Street  ...

..... but on East Main, as in parking lots at the Methodist and Catholic churches, cars belonging to parishioners of the Waterville Baptist Church and SouthGate Ministries lined the street.

Elsewhere, starting as early as six o'clock ........ parking lots at  the Kountry Kafe in Deansboro and "Quack's" in Madison  filled up......

.... as customers headed to their favorite spots for hot coffee, pancakes, 3- and  4-egg omelets, sausage and bacon, or celebratory "all of the above" combinations of breakfast fare .............

........ and even a slice of Kling's Mills' famous pie.

(Yes - it's a hardware store, too, and has been a North Brookfield landmark since 1869!)

At Suzi's Place, in Bouckville, Carol Gloss ordered just one pancake and one egg:

Diner cooks have their own ideas of proportions, and make sure that customers never leave hungry!

IN THE MAIL

A note from Sue Fryc reminding me to go and look at the formerly plain white, weathered,  "Home for Homeless Ladies" on Putnam Street, now taking on the colors of a true "Painted Lady."

(Thank you, Sue!)

This photo from Blog Reader Patty Harding Ford who spotted the Blogger and friends Doris Stephan and Carol Wood enjoying the Friday afternoon sunshine on Main Street.

(Thank you, Patty!)
