Saturday Special!

TO KIM HOLIC!

*****

and also,

Happy 16th Birthday to GOOGLE,
without which this blog would (probably) not be possible!

*****************************

It's time to start "Leaf-peeping"and you won't need to go far!

Maples throughout the Village and in the surrounding countryside have begun to "turn."

Canada Geese are flying, but this gaggle picked out a fine spot - next to Madison Street -  for an overnight rest.

Virginia Keith posted her photograph of Nine Mile Swamp, probably taken from Kelly Road, on the Town of Brookfield Historical Society's Facebook page.

Farther afield, Dave and Pat McNamara sent this picture that they took yesterday of the Moose River not far from McKeever.

(Thank you!)

I recognize those rocks and remember taking this photo a year or two ago!

It's Pumpkin Time, too, and there's no shortage of them this year!

There are plenty to choose from at the Pryputniewicz's, north of Waterville on Route 12.

The Moshers' on Barker Road at the foot of Grant Hill.

The Landis Farm, on Shanley Road ....

... and at Alcott's, of course!

Elsewhere .......

While scraping and calking continue at Morgan's Hardware Store on West Main Street, "Main Street Liquors" has been painted!

You'll find that travelling on Putnam Street and Babbott Avenue South is sort of rough and rumbly, but it's a good sign: smooth new pavement is coming soon!

************************************

While you're riding around, head in the driveway to the Marshall Township Garage to look at the new Salt Storage Building that's being built there! Looks huge, doesn't it?

My thanks to Don Hinman for these photographs!

At 8:00 a.m., Saturday morning, it's 47 degrees and SUNNY!
