It's Garbage Day.
18 degrees and dry at 5:15 a.m.

Here's TWCNY's morning Weather Forecast:

"Snow Showers Continue/Cold,  Quieter Weather Midweek
Lake effect snow showers will continue today and it is going to be another cold one. Temperatures should only manage to top out in the upper teens and low 20s.

Lake snow will linger into Tuesday before finally coming to an end and believe it or not, it will be even colder with highs only in the middle and upper teens.

Our weather improves for both Wednesday and Thursday with quieter conditions and it won't be as cold. That being said, temperatures will still end up being below average the rest of the week with highs in the 20s."

Here & There

New  - at Joan Albert's on East Bacon Street.

Last week, before the "big storm" came, I saw a hundred or more wild turkeys foraging in a field next to Route 20.

Although the depth of new snow is not as great as had been forecast by the turkeys or predicted by meteorologists , snowmobilers are happy!

And although it has not been as wonderfully sunny as it was on Friday, when I took this picture of the sun setting over Pleasant Valley ....

................ and turning cornstalks to gold out in Hanover ......

..... "sleds" are on the move, everywhere:

Being checked out and gassed up at Nice 'n Easy while their owners take a quick break ....

or nearly filling a parking lot at Hotel Solsville on Sunday afternoon.

The temperature, yesterday, was really quite pleasant.  Smiling runners were out in Waterville .....

.............  and two X-country skiers on the towpath trail near Woodman Pond in Hamilton made a pretty picture.

I always enjoy this wintertime view of an old rowboat pulled up on the shore of "Picnic Island" at the pond in Lyons Mills.
