From Sue Getman, for the Waterville Rotary Club, relaying a letter and photograph sent to her by Cassie Holic, who is winding down her year in Belgium.
"My exchange year is slowly coming to an end, unfortunately, and recently
I had my final big Rotary meeting. So not only was there the changing
of the president, but there was the exchanging of our flags. Thought you
would like some photos. See you in a month!
Sincerely,
Cassie Holic"

Here & There
Pretty as can be!
Ready for seeding or planting, grading has been finished in front of the new approach at St. Bernard's Catholic church and the last of the cast iron railings set in place.
The application of new siding on this home on Stafford Avenue is nearly complete .....
........... but much of the Victorian trim, including the oversized "brackets," has been removed.

On Putnam Street, Wayne Brouillette & Co. have been doing some touch-up painting at the Falk residence. So far, they seem to have been dealing with just one color, but Oh! what a challenge they will have if they need to match any of the other six shades that decorate this perfect example of a Victorian "Painted Lady!"

After months of rumors, on Wednesday afternoon a sign went up over the doorway of the building that has been known for years as "The Scerbo Block."
The new pub's name may seem strange to many, but if you ask anyone from New York City or London the name of one of their favorite pubs, they'll tell you that it's "The Slaughtered Lamb!"
Perhaps in years to come the new pub on West Main Street in Waterville will be just as famous!
