It's 39.7 degrees and dry at 5:30 a.m.
Here is the Weather Forecast from TWCNY:
"More Seasonable and Mainly Dry Today, Showers Pick Up Tonight.
More seasonable temps will develop today with some sun and just the risk for a spotty shower or two for the middle of the day. Highs will be in the mid 60s. A disturbance will arrive later tonight with a gusty breeze and showers picking up. Lows will be in the low to mid 50s. Tomorrow will be pleasant with most, if not all of these showers will be out of here by daybreak. There will be some sun breaking out with highs well into the 60s.
A cold front will arrive Tuesday night with another round of widespread showers. This will cool us off into the second half of the week with just the risk for a few scattered lake showers. Quiet and cool weather will stick around at least into the start of the weekend."

Fields of soy are turning brown ...........

The site for a bunker of another sort is being prepared in Sangerfield.
Construction complete, painting is in progress on the new side porch of the "painted lady" residence at 140 White Street which is owned by Bob Card.
Much of the decorative woodwork at the old "Home for Homeless Ladies" building on Putnam Street has been carefully and artfully restored by Alan Tarbox and his crew.

Work is still in progress on the entryway of Main Street Liquors, but over the weekend this handsome new sign made of three-dimensional letters appeared above the entryway of Morgans!
So classy!

Another bright sight that has intrigued passersby - especially photographers - is this bright yellow, several-acre field across from the Pryputniewicz Farm on Route 12.
Yes - it IS mustard.
It was planted as a cover crop and biofumigant
and will be disked in within the next week or so.

Seen from Route 12 it looks like a landing strip ......
............... but it is the base for the Township's new Salt Storage facility.
Unlike the new "Quonset-style salt storage barn in Deansboro, below, Sangerfield's will be "bunker style" with 16' tall concrete walls topped with wooden trusses and a wood & shingle roof which, according to Town Supervisor Kevin Kelley, "should be good for 45 or 50 years."
