New Views

Those of us who often travel through Hanover have been watching the growth of a new section of stone wall being built by Dave Sullivan at the top of Grant Hill.

Back in the Village, new windows are being installed in the "Buell Block"  ......

.............  "Celebrations on Tower," the popular new banquet venue, has a new look .......

.............. there's a bright new basket bouquet on Suzette's Madison Street door .......

.............. and there will no doubt be a new diesel fuel pump at Nice 'n Easy in Sangerfield replacing the one that was "wiped out" in a "hit and run" accident by a tractor trailer on Tuesday morning.  (I was told that although the driver did not stop, there was video evidence that provided all the information needed to locate him.)

Friends and blog readers Ron and Margaret Bornick of Clinton attended an MVAS picnic on the Library / Observatory grounds a week or so ago and Ron followed up that visit with a letter to me suggesting that the Lally Memorial Garden, located behind the Library, deserved to have its picture taken for the blog.

He was right!

(Thanks, Ron!)

TBT

From "At Home in the Huddle," July 30, 2006:

"... shaded by the new pergola behind the library, I watched Ed DeSanctis of Royal Landscape and his nephew put the finishing touches on a "pondless waterfall!" To the East of the building, stone masons have constructed a classic, curved stone wall bench.
Follow either of the winding walkways and see for yourselves how nice this is becoming!"
