It's 54 degrees and clear at 6:30 a.m.
Today is Garbage Day.

The TWCNY Weather Forecast as of Wednesday afternoon:
"Spotty Shower Today but Pleasant! Beautiful Friday into the Weekend.
For today a disturbance rotating around the south side of a cool Canadian low will generate clouds, a few spotty showers and even an isolated thunderstorm more to the north of the Thruway and in the Adirondacks and less to the west. Highs on Thursday will be in the 70s.
For Friday as high pressure builds in, we should see increasing sun area wide with temperatures rising well into the 70s.
Beautiful weather continues this weekend with sunshine and even warmer temperatures.  Highs will be in the low and mid 80s over the weekend into early next week."

Here & There

What a difference some paint makes:  a strip of Italianate brackets that, I've been told, was already on the front of the former Modern Electric shop - now BusinessWare Consulting on East Main Street - has new colors. (I thought that the entire strip was new!)

On East Bacon Street, Bill Vetter & Co. are at work painting the Briggs' house ....

..................  and nearly the same colors were used on the Zwahlen home in Sangerfield, last week.

The Biggs residence was one of two buildings that were moved from Stafford Avenue in 1929 or 1930 to make room for the construction of the "new" school. The other structure that was moved was the former Carentz home, standing next to the mini-mart building.

The Zwahlen home was built in the early 1800s by P.B. Haven who established the Haven Brick Works in Sangerfield in 1810.

Out in the Country

Linda Ford's garden on Burkert Road.

Cornflower, next to Skyline Drive.

View from Lewis Road.

Sheaves of grain in a field next to Tanner Road, west of Skyline Drive.

Meanwhile .....  over in Bouckville .....

..........   tents of all shapes and sizes are going up and traffic on Route 20 was so steady that I couldn't stop long enough to take a real panoramic picture.

August 11th through the 17th.
