******

It's Garbage Day

Here's the TWCNY Weather Forecast:

"Sun and Cold, Temps Slowly Improve

With high pressure overhead the forecast looks a little better with dry/quiet conditions and highs in the 20s. Our weather remains uneventful to round out the work week and the upward trend in temperatures will continue with highs in the upper 30s by Friday.

A few scattered snow showers are possible on Saturday as a cold front works through.  Highs on Saturday will be well into the 30s.  Colder air works in behind the front with temperatures closer to 30 on Sunday. "

Wednesday Noon: two new messages

The first Email is from Dan Williams, reporting  "beautiful conditions on top of Tassel Hill, 'the roof of oneida county'. Light snow, 12 degrees, and not a breath of wind. A morning ski is the perfect way to start the day."

And there's still plenty of time for the rest of you!

The TWCNY Morning Weather Forecast:

"Temperatures Doing Slightly Better/Still Chilly, Becoming Quiet Late Week

Today we will keep in the risk for a flurry or snow shower; however, it won't be as cold with temperatures able to top out between 20 and 25 degrees.

High pressure will dominate on Thursday and as a result, the forecast looks a little better with dry/quiet conditions and highs in the upper 20s. Our weather remains uneventful to round out the work week and the upward trend in temperatures will continue with highs in the upper 30s by Friday.

Still an early call on the weekend but at this point, it's shaping up to be a bit colder and slightly unsettled."

Found on Facebook, posted by the
Town of Brookfield Historical Society

(Virginia Keith.)

"Bobby Lopez and his wife, Kristin Anderson Lopez, just won the Oscar for Best Song for their song: "Let It Go", which they wrote for the movie "Frozen". Bobby is one of the very few persons in this world who has won a Tony, an Grammy, and the Oscar! Why does this matter to the Brookfield Historical Society?

Bobby Lopez is the son of Frank Lopez who graduated from BCS in 1962! (along with Bill Jennings; Dighton Head; Jim Elliott; Dale Cross; Jerry Evans; Bob Plows; Harrison Fellows; and Richard Penner. And the "girls": Beatrice Beach (Tuttle); Thelma Ward (Kabana); Marion (Rogers) Eisenhut; Tricia Piersma (Calhoun); Neva Calhoun (Swenson); and Bonnie Keith (Hill)!

Frank's brothers are Richard and Mitch Kudak (Class of 74).

They lived on Giles Rd. past Owens' and Witter's. Used to be "Aunt Lottie's" house!"

The TWCNY morning Weather Forecast:

"Light Snow this Afternoon, Warm Up This Week.

Another cold day is in store across Central New York. Temperatures will struggle to reach the upper teens and lower 20s by this afternoon. A weak disturbance moving in from the northwest will bring snow showers and areas of light snow this afternoon and into this evening. Accumulations will be minimal with most areas only seeing a trace to 2 inches by late this evening. Area roads should remain in good shape overall, but there will still be some slick spots, especially during the evening commute.

Light snow will taper off tonight with only flurries remaining as lows dip into the lower teens. We will keep the threat for flurries and snow showers in the forecast through late Wednesday night before high pressure moves back toward the end of the week.

That area of high pressure will warm things up quite a bit for Thursday and Friday with a mix of sun and clouds and quiet conditions -  we could see 40 degrees for a high on Friday. A cold front swings through Friday night with snow showers, bringing cooler air back in for the weekend.

More on Monday morning

It's Garbage Day
6.3 degrees at 6:00 a.m.

***************************

The TWCNY morning weather forecast:

"VERY Cold Today, Below Average Temps Through Midweek
The combination of a cold air mass in place and a northwesterly flow will result in a couple of lake flurries or a snow shower south/southeast of Lake Ontario today. That being said, our main focus is on the temperatures with afternoon highs only in the upper single digits and low teens (wind chills at or below zero through the better part of the day). Very limited lake effect will try to hang on tonight but eventually come to an end as high pressure builds overhead. Lows are expected to be near/below zero.

A relatively weak clipper system looks to work in on Tuesday, bringing with it thickening clouds and the increasing threat for a couple of snow showers during the afternoon and evening. Despite that, temperatures should end up doing a bit better compared to today with highs closer to 20 degrees. The overall weather pattern remains slightly unsettled through about midweek and during this time period, temperatures will continue to trend upward with highs returning to the 30s by Thursday."
